What is hongos setas?

Hongos setas, also known as mushroom chanterelle or simply chanterelle, is a type of edible fungus that is highly prized for its distinctive flavor and texture. Chanterelles have a trumpet-shaped cap that ranges in color from golden yellow to orange-yellow and they have a fruity, mildly peppery taste. They are commonly found in wooded areas, particularly in the Pacific Northwest region of North America, and are often harvested in late summer and early fall. Chanterelles are an excellent source of many essential minerals and vitamins, including copper, potassium, iron, and vitamin D, making them a healthy and nutritious addition to any diet. They can be used in a variety of dishes, such as soups, stews, and risottos, or simply sautéed and served as a side dish.
